Trevor Tooth – Profile

Trevor Tooth’s garden designs are becoming renowned within the industry and public sector with unique style and imagination.

Trevor’s passion for gardens has expanded quickly along with his skills and knowledge over the past 19 years. Trevor is a talented and ambitious garden designer who originally discovered a natural flair for landscaping while spending a summer working for a landscaper.

Trevor developed his knowledge by joining a part-time course at Hadlow College where he studied Horticulture and Amenity and then joined another landscaping company assisting them with garden maintenance. This led him into garden design and construction.

Trevor soon started designing gardens and creating his own style of planting. His knowledge extends from designing and creating a garden on paper, to managing the build of the garden from the groundwork through to the hard landscaping, to designing the planting schemes at the end of the project. Plants are his real passion and along with creating a new design to suit the client’s needs, he enjoys this side of it the most.

Trevor currently co-presents BBC Radio Kent’s Sunday Gardening programme and has previously entered his own show gardens in two Hampton Court Flower Shows where he achieved a bronze medal in 2005 and silver gilt medal in 2006. Also, Chelsea Flower Show where he achieved a bronze medal. He is currently preparing for Chelsea Flower Show next year where he has secured a place with sponsorship on Main Avenue creating a large show garden.

Trevor has been running his own thriving design, build and maintenance company for a number of years, where he works with his ever expanding team, currently consisting of landscapers, project managers, a maintenance manager and team, plants manager, general manager and office staff. Projects in the main are for private clients with some selective corporate companies, designs vary from small town gardens to country manor houses and public spaces.

Trevor’s success has been due to his constant hard work and commitment fuelled by his passion for creative ideas.
